Adding a photo album

I know a couple of our members are civil war reenactors... so this might be favorable to them. Anyways, I am thinking about adding a photo gallery to historum. It will contain photos from all ages of history and all wars. There will also be a feature for users to submit their own photos (reenactors). Just a thought and another item I might put on the list.

The first stages of the photo album are complete. I have the initial script up and running. I will be working on skinning it to look just like historum. This will take time.

The photo album can be seen at www.historum.com/photos

Sounds like a great idea, the layout you have on there now looks a little funky ... but it should look nice once you get it to match the one here.

I have to bridge the userbase so that everyone that is a user here can log into the photo album with their same name and password.. plus I'd like to create categories for the photos, but that can be done later.

I'll try to get the userbase set up tonight.

Ok... the userbase has been added... you just go to http://www.historum.com/photos

you might have to log in, you might not... i'm not sure.

I added a few albums but thats all i had time for now.. if you have suggestions for albums let me know..

each user also gets a personal album.

I'll have a nice long FAQ about this photo feature once everything gets running good.

EDIT: Ok, apparently you may only view the photo if you are logged into historum. I'll try to change that later.

I see our photo album is well.....empty. While I have yet to have time to sit down and upload picture, you guys are keeping me busy posting, I will try and sit down tomorrow evening and add a few.

I've added a photo to our album, I'm having trouble putting files where I want them to go. The picture I put up was intended for the American Civil War album but it didn't make it. Commander, I need assistance.

I've uploaded some new photos from this past weekends reenactment at Manassas. I'm sure Commander would appreciate if more people would use the album since he went to the trouble of making it. The only problem I have had with it is not being able to upload my pics in the Civil War folder.

Lord Cronus, I appreciate you taking the time to opload photos to the photo album. I will get the problem fixed asap I promise.

And forumnewbie, you have to be logged in inorder to access the photo album, guests can not see it.
