I remember going there on a field trip in Middle School. It was pretty cool. Everyone dresses the part of a colonial. You can still go in all the old shops and court house.

Old Salem here in NC is similar to it. We took a trip there when I was in 7th grade. Actually got to see a house that George Washington MAY have stayed in.

How weird... I went to Williamsburg on a field trip too in 8th grade... back in the mid 90s ! We also went to Monticello where Thomas Jefferson lived. Very cool house on a hill. I've also been to Mount Vernon where George Washington lived, but that was on a separate trip.

I remember in Williamsburg a bunch of us went to the toy shop and bought cap guns. We were running around the streets pretending to shoot the colonial soldiers. It was hilarious to us, but probably annoying as hell to them.

I was supposed to go in 6th grade but it was canceled. I did go the following summer though.

Yes, although the last time was about 20 years ago for me. Colonial Williamsburg, Mount Vernon, and Monticello are all definitely worth the trip if you are planning to be in Virginia.

Its been about 20 years since I went there also. I would like to go again someday, as I also want to check out the American flags from the Revolution they have on display at the museum there.
