They named Einstein the greatest ma of the 20th century, but who would you list as the greatest in the last 1000 years? Da Vinci, Guttebberg, Columbus, Marco Polo.

My choice would be Columbus good or bad his voyages changed the world, and I will give him credit for having an idea and a dream and going for it. Even though he did'nt relize he had discovered another part of he world that no knew existed. He still went forth and did it.

So many choices... who to pick..?

Da Vinci is not a bad option. I guess one could make a case for Thomas Edison too. Columbus is also up there because he faced humiliation and ridicule when he claimed the world was round and not flat. He went out to prove everyone in the world wrong.

I'll pick Leonardo Da Vinci for his work in the arts and the sciences. He was a man a thousand years ahead of his time. Without him, we might still be in the Dark Ages
