Didn't Achilles kill Hector? So wouldn't that make Achilles the better man?

Hector was a man, Achilles was part of God. Therefore, had Achilles not had this advantage, I'm sure Hector would have killed him. However, we'll never know because Troy was just a movie and we're unsure if there is any true historical context behind it or not, you know?

Eh...It's believed that the Trojan Wars, the books written by Homer, might just be a collection of stories put together. And there is also a rumor that Homer was not real. But, that's another discussion for another time.

Nah wasn't Homer just thought to have made up the Trogan wars until Troy was actually found. (well a large settlement where Troy supposadly existed that dates to the time when Troy existed so they put 2 and 2 together lol)

As for the gretest ancient warrior - I'd have to say Julius Caesar.

Hector cannot possibly be thought of as the greatest warrior of all time because, apart from Homer's account, we do not even know whether he actually existed. I'd rather avoid specifying one and only one, so I'll go with the likes of Alexander, Philip II, Caesar, Hannibal, Scipio, Cyrus, Thutmosis III, Trajan, Hammurabi, and Iphicrates, among many other greats which I have undoubtedly forgotten.

See...Here is the problem that I see as I read all these ancient warriors. Caesar, Hannibal, Scipio, Trajan, etc etc were all Generals. They were not on the battlefield like a soldier was. I'm willing to bet that one of Caesar's well trained 10th Legion soldiers could destroy him in a sword fight. I'm going to say one of the tribes men that became great empire leaders. Ghenghis Khan is one and Atilla the Hun. These were warriors that were trained from little boys to be warriors and then grew up to lead their people. Caesar was just a General that was a good tactician. But, he's still my favorite.

Oh is that what old_abe meant? If so, then my choices are a bit off I'll agree. I thought "warrior" was being used to refer to traditional generals and commanders. Well now I'd probably go for Spartacus.
