The strongest European military (idea)

Could we compare European militaries by comparing sizes, weapons, tactics, success in field, reforms and everything that is relevant and make a complete list of their respective military strength?
Could be an interesting topic.

This site (among other could come in handy), but it's outdated, and it doesn't contain all of the countries.

In present times if suddenly, if the war between the U.S. and Russia would be happen . That would be a war of total mutual destruction. In the beginning we exchange strategic missiles of destruction, and then we would be kill each other by tactical neutron warheads.

I think that it's fairly easy to say that Russia has the strongest force out of all European nations... Tho I wouldn't consider them 100% European nation to begin with.

I think that without much analysis UK would be at no.2 and France at no.3

But what about the rest?

I am sure that Germans would be no.2 if they would be allowed to build up their army, but I don't see that happening.

This topic only works if you exclude Russia and her nukes.

I think that giant tank would be more of a negative than a positive.

Even if you exclude Russia than it would be down to Britain or France with their nukes/icbms

If we exclude all weapons of mass destruction the list would look something like this
Russia
UK/France/Germany
Italy
Poland
Spain
Ukraine

..............................

A huge 'White Elephant' that if built would not only have been a waste of resources but been a nice big target.

Looks good on 'Youtube' but in reality a waste of time.

This might be something to play with.:)
Defence Data Portal

It's the economic side of the EU nations' defences. Still should give some food for thought, and at least questions, about what the different numbers and levels of expense translate into.

What? Do you mean the U.S. vs. US? I'm well aware I did that, I just didn't bother fixing it.

No I meant how the question is about the strongest European military and you only put one unquestionably European military in the list.
