The CIA was involved in traficking cocaine from Columbia to the US. They did this to have money for which they don't have to account, a "black pot", as we say over here.

Today they're big in the land of heroin.

I'm not too well versed in all the conspiracy theories, but i'll tell you this: i'll take the word of a Taliban representative over that of a US official anytime.

I take it you still never watched the video. Examining the physical evidence would be conclusive. Or in other words "without doubt". Do you mean to tell me you can't view something with your own eyes where it can give you pause that something is not right?

There was no need for the towers to collapse, the planes hitting them would be enough for a DOW against Afghanistan. Actually the US already had enough for a DOW against Afghanistan for harbouring terrorists. USS Cole and the African embassy bombings. If the US was that keen for a war with Afghanistan why risk it all in a very complex terror plot when they already had a damned good reason to invade Afganistan. Even without 9/11 they would've recieved international support as the Taliban were veiwed as dangerous drug dealing terrorists by the entire western world pre 9/11 anyway

NOBODY knew who Osama Bin Laden was nor the Taliban, and absolutely no American gave a rats about any middle eastern terrorist, UNTIL 9/11. Please.

And because we want to respect the traditions of our enemies we won't show the corpse of the guy responsible for all this. We'll torture them, invade their homes, lock them up innocent without charges, shoot them when they're unarmed and wounded and take a dump on their dead bodies. But we won't disrespect their burial rites. That goes too far.

That is simply untrue.

OBL and Taliban were extremely well known, here and abroad, and Americans have been attacked, maimed, killed, and suffered in uncountable other ways due to terrorists from the middle east and elsewhere.

Not to mention bombing their cities, extracting a death toll many times higher than the effects of their terrorism.

We'll also remove the freedoms they despise so much, just to make sure they have one less reason to hate us, now we're just like them.

They were known, but not world famous. And the US knew exactly who the culprit was before the ruins were cold, and made sure the world knew it. Despite the fact they never actually charged OBL with the crime.

Yes, it's an extreme example to make a point. My point is; What should they have done? Certainly they need to do something. Combating violent people does not seem like a stretch of the imagination to me.

You've already made the assumption terrorists were capable of defying the defences of the US.

Don't forget how they found out who the culprits were... They miraculously found a passport of one the the terrorist who high-jacked the jetliner blocks from the WTC.
