Brave Heart

From my perspective it has one good moment in it and one good moment only, where Longshanks throws the advisor "through the window" and then bitchslaps his son to the floor. The rest was poor imo (yes only my opinion, because people have different tates in films :p)

My favourite war film is still "Where Eagles Dare"

how could it be more accurate when both were based on legends?i found centurion far more intelligent as most of the posters did.

Both are modern fantasies, but with a historical setting, hence the relevance of 'accuracy'.

Apparent Salah doesn't like the portray of the babarians in Centurion.

Nope, Salah doesn't like the portrayal of 'barbarians' in Centurion:)

In fact, I made a mistake - The Eagle is the one with 'Indianesque' Picts; Centurion's Picts were a little more believable.

Stormbringerr; I would love to hear what you think of it, if you have time to watch it after your spelling lessons.

They looked more believable than Eagle. Centurion had better scenery and was more exciting especially with that crazy ..... with no tongue and a dagger spear.

As I stated two posts above, I got the movies confused. The Eagle was the one with Indian-style Picts.

Are there any other Centurion, Eagle movies that I haven't heard about. Mel Gibson's mayan film was pretty good.

Actually now that I think of it "Black Hawk Down" was a great War film. All I can say is that you can not beat any film directed by Ridley Scott.

LOL. Which includes "Kingdom of Heaven" and "Gladiator" as well as many other historical films!!!

Das Boot,hands down!

It is not only the best submarine movie to date, but one of the best war movies ever. It's blunt, honest, serious, mature and faithful to war reality, also ignores the cliches present in the genre, ie American or British good and smart versus Germans bad and fools.

Valkyrie with Tom Cruise deserves a mention.

I hope you're joking.

I think "Cromwell" is the most accurate historical movie ever.
Other than that, I think The Patriot was pretty good.

I do not understand people's fascination with Glory tho, yeah I mean, the main character was kind of hot, but that will only attract the female viewers. Also, they only showed like 2 battles for the whole film.
The rest of the scenes they were only talking and walking.
I couldn't understand the point of the movie to be honest.

Cromwell is not very accurate. It makes up all kinds of stuff, like it portrays Cromwell as being one of the Five Members who Charles I tries to have arrested, but he wasn't. In fact, Cromwell was not very important at all in the early years of the Civil War, but the film tries to make out that he was. Also it gives Sir Jacob Astley's prayer 'oh lord, thou knowest how busy I must be this day' to Cromwell, which is very unfair.
