I am very confused about Prussia/Germany using a blue-white-red tricolour a la Yugoslavia. Can someone explain this to me?

With that "tumblehome" hull and single pole military masts that sure looks like a French or Russian battleship.

I guess that phonetically V and B sound the same to them. And the country as still "new", so I guess it was an honest mistake

Very nice post-cards! I felt strange when I saw Imperial Japanese Navy Flag together with British Flag as a sign of friendship , 30 years after these postcards got created, Japan will become one of the greatest enemy of Britain!!
