I love Lila Downs from Mexico. And Lhasa De Sela though her music is not 'just' Latino but a fusion of many.

China and Japan like Latin music.

Not necessarily. I know there are some East Asians who like Latin music; however, in Asia, K-Pop (Korean popular music), J-Pop (Japanese popular music), and perhaps T-Pop (Taiwanese popular music) are the most prominent music styles. The popularity of Latin music in Asia can't match these three Asian pop musics.

Personally, I prefer Andean music because I think there are some similarities between Native Andean music and traditional East Asian music. Apart from Andean music, I don't really like other types of Latin music.

I also like the Tania Libertad version of "Gracias a la Vida". Violeta Parra did herself proud with that one.

I didn't know about the other versions of "gracias a la vida". Even when I like the original composer most, the first, more happier, is also good. The song is sad because she was probably saying goodbye throught it.
