Hello all,

This post is to tell you about an exciting new WW2 novel, set during the chaotic days of the 'Battle of the Bulge'. We've produced a short promotional film which you can see here:

Two foes meet in no-man’s land, deep in the Belgian Ardennes forest in December 1944. One is an innocent medical student who has never seen combat, the other is a battle-hardened Hitler Youth. But the student is from the present day, and is initially unaware he has travelled back in time. Written by international author, Peter Hingston, this gripping yet heart-warming human story is set against the engrossing backdrop of the Battle of the Bulge, the largest battle fought by the US Army during WW2.

This promotional video features the work of Ross Madison, co-winner at the 4th Young Filmmaker International Festival in Brazil (2014). Produced on a very tight budget, we feel that the actors (both drama students) excelled themselves.

Thanks for telling us about it. I put on a sample to try. Nice idea to make a promotion film -- I haven't seen that done before, original.

I love time travel stories. There is another one out on American soldiers from WWII time-travelling back without realizing it and attacking people in modern Germany; I can't seem to find the title on that one.

WTF is an "International author"? Does that mean he has a passport?

Thanks for your support Phebe, I'm glad you liked the film. It was great fun to make, we felt like just making the whole TV series!
I'd be interested to know what that book you mentioned was, sounds interesting.

Ancientgeezer - The word 'international' refers to the fact that the author has sold many thousands of books in a long list of countries, translated into many languages.

Self-publishing is nearly a norm these days, with Amazon's easy route to publishing ebooks. Things have changed so drastically, at least with fiction, that I am just watching in delight as writers soar free of agents and the gate-keeping publishers. I suspect that if writers find an audience, they will be snapped up by conventional publishers post hoc. Or there may be many more changes coming. Publishing is wild and woolly now. I'm for disruptive industry changes.

So, what sets this story apart from 'Enemy Mine' ...

Which includes an alien and a human being stranded on a planet and though they are foes, gradually become allies and friends in survival.

"Enemy Mine" was a re-make of "Hell in the Pacific" with Lee Marvin

Ahhh I didn;t know that! Interesting.

And yes Phebe! Mind you the movie is 30 years old... so many classics from back then :) I seriously cried at this.
