I am very curious to know about the Rajput wife of Mughal emperor Akbar. As per Vincent A Smith's 'Akbar the Great Mogul', Akbar's wife was the eldest daughter of Raja Bihar Mal of Amber (Jan 1562) while Jahangir says that "The first of the Rajput Chieftains who became attached to the government of my father Akbar was Raja Bharmal (or Raja Bihar Mal?), the grandfather of Raja Man Singh. As a mark of distinguished favour, my father placed the daughter of Raja Bharmal in his own palace, and finally espoused her to me (1586). It was by this princess, I had my son Khusrau." (Jahangirnama, Translated by Major David Price)

Jahangir's wife and Khusrau's mother was Man Bai, daughter of Bhagwan Das, grand daughter of Bharmal.

Akbar's wife was Jodha Bai, daughter of Bharmal.

Then why did Jahangir write that Akbar was gifted with a Rajput princess, who was later enspoused to him (Jahangir)??:zany:
