Why religion deserves more respect?

In the US, it is not good to say you do not believe. Because "agnostics" do not "believe" in God, because there is some doubt, you are atheist. You cannot have your cake and eat it too, I guess. I am more practical about these things, I simply do not worry about what others believe and I focus on things that interest me in life. I find it refreshing and entertaining.

Where I live, everyone is Christian, mostly Baptist. There are exceptions like me who are stubborn damned to hell idiots who just do not get it.

In the movie "The Godfather", they killed this guy in a car on the side of the road. The killers were leaving the scene, and one of them said that line. He meant leave the murder weapon behind, but take the cannoli.

Exactly. There are many quotes from that movie that entered pop culture in a way, so that people (almost always men) remember these quotes. It is a way for us to feel superior over people who don't know this movie.
Truth is, it is just a move that I love. It may be the greatest.

Its odd that Atheists are seen as fanatic when we see whats been going on in the past few days.
Certain atheists are seen as fanatics because they allow religion to wind them up a bit too much.

I wondered about this in an earlier post. Perhaps a person who is an exception to the group will act differently to a person who is a member of a group in a society made up of lots of small groups?

I wonder why the religious institution and their blind followers are so intolerant. They feel plainly attacked when one tries to start debating. I can imagine how they reacted back then, chopping your head off with fury. Scary.
