Can you explain why Beauregard and especially Burnside, who's often considered one of the worst?

beaureguard had many military enemies he did well at bull run as leader of army of potomac,he was the victor at the 1st battle of bull run.he defended Chalston from naval & land attacks attacks.he saved petersburg, VA.he saved Richmond the confederate capitol from an overwelmingly superior union army. he had bad relations w/jefferson davis which caused his downfall.
he was a great tactician and leader, probably too much so.

Burnside was an mistake.i dont know what i was thinking

He wasn't the head of the army of the Potomac.

Yes he was - the Confederate Army of the Potomac.

He wasn't the head of the army of the Potomac.

That is what the Confederate army was called in July 1861, along with the Army of the Shenandoah, under JE Johnston, which gave Patterson the slip to arrive at Manassas Junction.

.he did do very well at the 1st battle of bull run , among other battles. also Beauregard became the first Confederate general officer appointed a brigadier general in the Provisional Army of the Confederate States . i believe he was railroaded by jealous generals in the military, along w/jefferson davis.
