Japanese have significant amounts of haplogroup D-M174 YAP, while Northern Chinese and Koreans are primarily haplogroup O-M175.

Oh, thanks. Sorry I know almost knowing of genology and anthropology. I think it's a little interesting, though. What is "Haplogroup O-m175"? lol. I know Northern Chinese and Koreans are very similar and connected. But I would think Japanese are very similar with Koreans too.

Chinese are primarily O3, with some O1 and O2; Koreans are primarily O2b and O3, with some C3; Japanese are primarily O2b1 and D2, with some O3 and C1.

Chinese are mixed with Southeast Asians, Japanese are mixed with South Asians.

This is a PCA (Genetic map)

Northern Han Chinese are dragged towards Southeast Asians, whereas Japanese are dragged towards South Asians (Indians).

This figure shows YAP+ frequencies:

Basically Africans, Andaman Islanders, Himalayans, some Thais/Vietnamese and Japanese have YAP+ and share the same recent male ancestor.

I don't believe this. This doesn't sound right. What about Mongolians and Koreans?

Why Japanese are mixed with South Asians? You mean that their unique haplogroup D is possibly originated in South Asia?

And why Chinese are mixed with Southeast Asians? Which are the Y-dna or mt-dna haplogroups that indicate this mixture?

If you look at the PCA, Koreans are not dragged towards anyone. Koreans are Northeast Asian.

Can you read the figure? Koreans are north of North Chinese.

North Chinese are dragged towards Southeast Asians and Japanese are dragged towards South Asians (Indians).

I know Koreans are Northeast Asian. But Chinese? North Chinese are Northeast Asian...that's for sure...but Southeast Chinese look very different.

And I thought Caucasoid = European, Middle Eastern, North African and South Asian (Indian, Pakistani, AFghani).

What you see with you own eye will be an illusion at time , you got to see through it. The genetic analysis has opened many doors and has revealed interesting facts about the origin of the Japanese.

North Chinese are Northeast Asian but also more mixed with Southeast Asians.

South Indians are Australoid. Indians have multiple origins. South Indians are predominantly Australoid.

It's like saying Maori's are Mongoloid. However Maori's are predominantly related to Australoids with small Mongoloid genetic contribution.

How would that diagram suggest that?

I'm not too familiar with Korean kingdoms but Goguryeo was Korean as far as I know.

You stated that the Chinese and the Koreans South East Asians go together genetically while the Japanese are related with the South Asians genetically .So I wanted to get it clarified.

Koreans do not shift towards anyone and are not very mixed with other populations, hence are totally Northeast Asian.

Han Chinese are shifted more towards Southeast Asians, whereas Japanese are shifted more towards South Asians on the genetic map.

Goguryeo was a kingdom which existed in Manchuria and the Korean peninsula. Whether it was Korean or not is not the point of this thread. I do not want to side with Korean nationalists, so I will say that Goguryeo had the same lineage with the original Korean kingdoms, however were more mixed with the Manchurians of northern Asia (as geography obviously suggests). However in the whole, the three Korean kingdoms (Paekche, Shilla and Goguryeo) were all inter-related as they all descended from the Gojoseon. The Gojoseon were neolithic Northeast Asians, very similar to Jurchens and ancient Mongolians.

So do you say that the Koreans are related to people of Tungusic and Mongolia Tribes and the Tribal people in Siberia ?
